Dr. Susan Lim Operates Out Of Singapore

One of the most well-known surgeons in Asia, Dr. Susan Lim, is based in Singapore where she was born, raised, and continues to live. Dr. Susan Lim operates out of Singapore, doing most of her work in two of Singapore’s premier hospitals, Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth. Dr. Susan Lim attended the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School and The Raffles Institution. Susan Lim received a scholarship to attend Monash University in Australia where she studied medicine. Her scholarship was part of the Colombo Plan, which was designed to foster economic and social development in the Asian Pacific region. In 1990 she would become famous throughout Singapore and Asia for becoming the first person to successfully perform a liver transplant on the continent.

Stem Cell Technologies was the name of the biotechnology firm started by Dr. Susan Lim in 2003. In 2004, Dr. Susan Lim joined Trinity College at the University of Melbourne, Australia, as a Fellow. She and her husband, along with a with, started a charity called the Indiapore Trust. The mission of the Indiapore Trust is to provide educational opportunities to children from the countries in the region that they would not otherwise have. The Indiapore Trust has handed out numerous scholarships to deserving students as well as donating a science laboratory to the Raffles Junior College.
